Position: Chairman
Robert is the senior pastor of New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Montgomery, AL. He is a retired employee with the State of Alabama, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Robert is a graduate of Alabama State University and Montgomery Bible Institute and Theological Center, Montgomery, AL. He has also served on many boards. Robert has been married for 44 years and has two son and one grandchild. He has a perpetual desire to help others have a great quality of life.

Member: Horatio Lee
Occupation: ITNOA, LLC Engineering/General Contractors
Position: Vice Chairman & Housing Chairman
Horatio is the owner of ITNOA LLC, an engineering, general contracting and home building company that provides design-build services for residential and commercial clients in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee. He has over 35 years of design and construction experience. He is a graduate of George Washington Carver High School in Montgomery, AL and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. As a member of the Board, he serves as Vice-Chairman, and Chairman of the Housing Committee.

Valeria is a native of Montevallo, Alabama but has lived in Montgomery for 44 years. She attended Montevallo High School and graduated from Alabama A&M University with a General Business Degree. Valeria is a Retired Banker. She is married with 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren.

Member: Marjorie Bowden

Position: Secretary
A thirty-five (35) year retiree Civilian with Department of Defense. She is the owner of M-L-B Enterprises that offers End-of-Life Doula, certified Biblical Counselor and Life Coach services focusing on caregiving, death planning, and support to grievers. Marjorie is also an author with an MPA and Doctorate of Biblical Studies and is the President of the nonprofit organization, Alpha Love 2 Life. She is the has three sons and six grandchildren.

Member: Larry Raby

Position: Board Attorney
Larry is a graduate of George P. Austin high school, a 1975 graduate of Alabama State University and in 1978 he earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. He served as an Assistant Attorney General of the State of Alabama, Attorney with Legal Service Corporation, Attorney in private practice. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Alabama, the Middle, Northern, and Southern Districts of Alabama. He is married to Barbara Stewart Raby and the proud father of two children one of whom is an attorney. Larry serves his community as a board member for various organizations and his church as a deacon, trustee, and chairman of the church.

Linda is a woman of faith looking to see a change in our community. She is willing to use her talents, skills and education to provide ACTS-CDC with the professional leadership to harness resources and help to develop policies, procedures and programs to bring real change to revitalize West Montgomery. Ms. Muse is prior military, an office manager and educator. She has served on the Board of ACTS-CDC for five years.

Jay is a native of Montgomery, AL. He had a passion from a young age to serve the community. He started an annual Thanksgiving give away in 2001 at William Kid Franklin boys club. He has a strong desire to mentor the youth. He founded New Vision Outreach to give vision and a new outlook on life for the youth in Montgomery, AL. He has worked with various community organization to help stop violence. His perpetual passion is to help provide a positive outlet for the youth through community outreach.

Member: Darlene Shuford-Pitts

Position: Board Member
Darlene is a native of Montgomery, AL. A graduate of Alabama State University. Retired Community Center Director for the City of Montgomery. Ordained Minister at Kingdom Builders International Ministry. Veteran USAF, wife and mother of two.

Member: Flora Brown
Occupation: Farmers Market Mgr.
Position: Housing Committee
Flora is the manager of the Fairview Farmers Market. A position that she has held for more than twenty-two years. Flora has a passion for ensuring that the needs of the people are provided for. And one way she helps that to happens is to make sure that people have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. Being that the area where the market is located has been declared to be a food desert by U. S. Department of Agriculture. Flora ensures that the Farmers Market offers very high-quality agricultural products produced by local farmers. Flora is married to Dan Brown and they have two wonderful children.

Member: Kahlia Bell
Kahlia currently serves as an appraiser for Montgomery County. Her resume speaks volumes for her multi-faceted background that continues to prepare her for serving her community. Kahlia is a graduate of Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Architecture in Architecture. She serves on several boards, including the Architectural Review Board here in the Montgomery. Kahlia is the proud mother of a son and daughter and continues to work to make this community all that it can be.

Member: Mary Gambles Boone
Mary is an advocate of Civil Rights education and volunteers in our Beloved Community. She is a graduate of The Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Marketing; Master of Education (M.Ed) from Auburn University, Montgomery; Education Specialist (Ed. S) from Troy University; and she has done post graduate course work toward her Doctor of Education (Ed.D) from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Mary teaches third grade at Dozier Elementary, Montgomery Public Schools. She is a founding member of Driving Force Women Golf Club. And the founding member of The Committee to Remember the Life and Legacy of Reverend Richard C. Boone. Mary along with other committee members have presented annual events to educate others about the significant of Civil Rights. She advocates for developing green space along the Civil Rights Trail which would include renovating homes in the area along the trail.
